Because policy must be considered to promote change of any sort in reading education, this collection aims to help reading educators, reading researchers, and administrators become knowledgeable about policies and policymaking, and ultimately, choose a course of action based on this new knowledge. Editors Patrick Shannon and Jacqueline Edmondson have organized the articles into three sections: Policy-Driven Work, Policy Communications Concerns, and Critical Policy Action. Taken together, these articles will help you analyze policy issues; engage in policymaking with greater understanding; and question reading policy, policymaking, and research on policy.
