All is well in the woods of Once. The wizard Xar and the warrior Wish have banished the Kingwitch, saving their families and proving themselves to their parents in the process. The woods are safe from witches and evil alike, and they are finally free to start learning to control their own special brands of magic... or so they think. Glowing black feathers lie across the forest paths, waiting to trip the feet of unwary travelers. Because, although the Kingwitch may be gone, he is not necessarily dead.
